Google AdSense Tips on How to Make Money Online

Advertising used to be contained through television ads, print media and sometimes even through radio stations. But with the advent of internet technology, online advertising brought the industry to a far better level than before. Now the technology is being used to distribute income to folks all over the world and Ireland is no exception. If you want to know more on how to make money online in Ireland then read further.

Google AdSense is not only one of the best ways to advertise online, but it is a great help to those Irish citizens who plan on making money through their blogs. All you have to do basically is to apply to Google and wait for them to confirm your membership and give you a code which you will then put into your website. Once published, the code will appear as a live ad that when people click on it, they will be transported to the advertiser’s website and the advertiser pays you in return.

One of the best tips you can follow by using this as a means to make money online in Ireland is to regularly update your blog. Traffic will pour in if people can see that your site is worth looking at. More so, they will be encouraged to click on the links related to your content if your articles, videos and downloadable are interesting enough to make their time worthwhile.

It would also be best to use your social networking connections to spread the word about your blog to gain more traffic. Remember that you will only be rewarded by Google AdSense if people actually do visit your website.

Question by James B: Which Adidas or Nike do you believe will dominate global soccer in the long term? Why?
Adidas’s strategy

- Adidas has locked down sponsorship of the World Cup tournaments through 2014. In addition to a powerful advertising presence, this means that billions of television viewers—plus the millions of people attending the games in person—will only see Adidas signage in the stadiums and Adidas balls on the fields. The sponsorship package also allows Adidas to sell “official” World Cup products, such as the 15 million World Cup soccer balls that they expect to ship in 2006 alone.

- For the 2006 World Cup, Adidas also paid for additional rights to completely shut Nike out of all TV advertising for all 64 games broadcast in the English language in the United States.

- On the 2006 digital front, Adidas bought sole sponsorship rights in the footwear category on three hugely popular soccer Websites (plus, of course, their strong presence on the official World Cup Website).

- But Adidas’ most powerful weapon may be their soccer boots themselves. Building on growing worldwide demand for customization, Adidas introduced the +F-50 soccer shoe that users can configure every time they play in response to their playing conditions and style preferences. Early signs suggest that the shoes will be a huge hit.

Nike’s strategy

- While Adidas has locked Nike out of World Cup sponsorship since 1994, Nike has always found creative ways to crash the gate. In 1994, for instance, Nike surreptitiously dropped about 150 free, branded caps at a major World Cup game in Orlando, Florida. The limited edition hats quickly generated more buzz than money could buy. At the 1998 event in France, Nike brought free soccer clinics to 50,000 French kids, and set up a high profile, interactive “Nikepark” in Paris. And after the 2002 World Cup in Japan and Korea, Nike had such a strong underground presence, that more British consumers thought Nike was the official sponsor than thought Adidas was.

- But Nike’s edge seems sharpest in the digital realm. In late 2005, Nike released a digitally altered Internet-only ad called Ping Pong, featuring Brazilian soccer superstar Ronaldinho performing virtually impossible soccer feats. The compelling viral video was viewed 12 million times in its first seven months on the Web.

- Nike’s biggest digital coup may be its new social networking site, Joga.com. Built in partnership with Google and modeled after My Space, Joga.com is a “community that focuses on one topic and one passion: soccer.” The site is available in 140 countries in 14 languages. In just three months Joga.com garnered about 800,000 members from around the world, and Nike claims that it adds a new member every eight seconds. The site is just one dimension of Nike’s innovative “Joga Bonito” campaign, which means “Play Beautiful” in Portuguese and features legendary soccer players from a range of different countries.

Nike because it’s a better and more popular brand than Adidas is.

Answer by TheMan
I don’t know exactly how to explain why a lot of people think Nike has a lot more quality in their material than adidas. they dominate the shoe market (not just in football) as they have a wide range of outdoor and indoor (futsal) football shoes, with the world’s most recognised global football superstars promoting their products. They also make way more ads that hold the interest of the viewer (I personally never get bored of their football ads).

In the long run, I think Nike will dominate not just the football market, but in all sports. Just look at Nike progression from the 1970′s.

Answer by Brad.Aggie
Wow that’s alot of info for a basic question. No offense but you sound like a Nike rep or something.

This is definitely a marketing ? One that will play out over time.

From an equipment standpoint, I’ve played with both balls and uniforms and ADIDAS is definitely better. Their balls are awesome and the uniforms are top notch quality. I always love to play with an ADIDAS ball.
As far as boots go I can’t really say…that’s such a difficult ? to answer considering foot shape and materials factors, etc.

So for me, ADIDAS will win with better equip but I think Nike is the smarter marketer, spending less $ on sponsorship but still figuring ways to reach the same audience.

Google Android Deploys, and Mobile Application Development & Software Preps for Breakthrough Year: Analysis

Mobile Application Development

It’s been over two years since we were first introduced to the iPhone. In that time, Apple has barely touched its initial handset (the only notable hardware update was a recent memory boost), giving the competition ample time to play catch-up with new products—tons of which are on display at the Mobile Application Development World Conference in Barcelona.

And while the post-iPhone hardware offerings from the likes of Samsung, Nokia and Sony Ericsson are certainly solid in Mobile Application Development, there’s nothing yet that will drive gadget fanatics—or even a new base of industry-weary fair-weather fans—into any sort of line-up-in-the-cold frenzy.

Instead, we have camera phones with megapixel boosts, designs that feature new colors, and a bit more processing power to top it all off. In a word: evolution, not revolution. It’s easy to see that, ever since the iPhone, the entire mobile industry has hit a sort of development plateau. We’ve reached the point where essentially every feature that people have ever wanted in a mobile device can be found on a phone. In the course of a couple of years, phones have gone from mere mouthpieces, to mobile televisions, GPS receivers, respectable cameras, portable gaming systems, Web browsers and everything in between. Now that mobile manufacturers have pushed the limits of hardware, the next big leap forward for mobile devices will be in the software that runs them.

And that’s why the prototype phones that run Google’s Android open-source mobile platform may be the most significant innovation to come out of the Mobile World Conference—or the mobile world all year. Texas Instruments makes the chips for all the first-look phones on display in Spain this week, and reps from TI told me that they’re getting behind Android for two primary reasons.

First, and most obviously, the open-source nature will allow developers to be creative and produce unique software experiences that would be impossible with the closed platforms that run on most phones. “Some developers are working on services that will allow you to play audio through one headphone channel while the other takes a call,” says Kevin Hasley, TI’s wireless application center manager and technical marketing manager. “What I see happening is a mass community creating the next-generation killer application, and then that application gets picked up by a major brand. This kind of open-source community is built upon this type of networking.”

Second, and exciting news to any owner of a Windows Mobile-powered smartphone, is what Hasley calls a “phenomenally seamless” experience when switching between mobile applications. Early versions of Android feature a taskbar with one-touch access to 10 of your most commonly used programs or files—an intuitive interface that, if early hands-on videos are any indication, does have that classic, stripped-down Google simplicity.

Much of the hoopla over the iPhone was that it’s simply intuitive. After years of using super-slow Windows Mobile devices, gadget lovers breathed a collective breath of fresh air after getting used to Apple’s speedy software. But that was then. Google has the chance to offer a similarly straightforward experience that also happens to be open to anybody with a good idea and a bit of programming skill. And that could give non-Apple mobile manufacturers the leg up they need to compete in a post-iPhone world—and to rise above the current plateau of frustration.

Would John McCain rather lose his integrity than lose an election?

GoogleTV | Friday December 31 2010 6:52 am | Comments (6) Tags: , , , , , , ,

Question by silencedo-gooder: Would John McCain rather lose his integrity than lose an election?
“Republican presidential nominee John McCain, a self-proclaimed tell-it-like-it-is maverick, keeps saying his running mate, Sarah Palin, killed the federally funded Bridge to Nowhere when, in fact, she pulled her support only after the project became a political embarrassment. He said Friday that Palin never asked for money for lawmakers’ pet projects as Alaska governor, even though she has sought nearly 0 million in earmarks this year. He says Obama would raise nearly everyone’s taxes, when independent groups say 80 percent of families would get tax cuts instead.”

http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5jMtvzhUJmkDwVPsjJ0vhp-MDl1-gD9359Q2O0

Politicians usually modify or drop claims when a string of newspaper and TV news accounts concludes they are untrue or greatly exaggerated…But McCain and his running mate Palin, the Alaska governor, were defiant this week in the face of similar reports. Day after day she said she had told Congress “no thanks” to the so-called Bridge to Nowhere, a rural Alaska project that was abandoned when critics challenged its costs and usefulness. For nearly a week, major news outlets had documented that Palin supported the bridge when running for governor in 2006, noting that she turned against it only after it became an object of ridicule in Alaska and a symbol of Congress’s out-of-control earmarking.

It produced an Internet ad implying that Obama had called Palin a pig when he used a familiar phrase, which McCain also has used, about putting “lipstick on a pig” to try to make a bad situation look better. McCain supporters said Obama was slyly alluding to Palin’s description of herself as a pit bull in lipstick, but there was nothing in his remarks to support the claim. Obama accused the GOP campaign of “lies and phony outrage.”

Does McCain even care about the truth or is winning more important?

(use the pause feature, as the floating box quickly obscures it.) Moving on, using FireFox extension “NoScipt”, I allow scripts to run from both ebay, and ebay static. Note when I do that, the floating form follows the scrolling. Ebay allows this dangerous coding to be used in all it’s auction listings, and this is only one of the many exploits possible using JS. Others include the redirection scripts, of which there are several variants, where the unsuspecting user is asked to re-sign in to view a listing, or an “about me” page, or any other number of methods. That, IMO, is similar to running a grocery store or a flea market where thieves and pickpockets are waiting in every isle and checkout lane, all while the owner denies they exist, even blaming the victim. Why doesn’t ebaY stop them? Because they cannot? Because of HUBRIS? Because they are making profit at the expense of the consumers? It has been suggested that

Free Phone Proposal from Google

Free Phone Proposal from Google

Google CEO Eric Schmidt made a comment speaking at Stanford’s School of Business a few weeks ago that has rattled teacups all across the communications industry. Schmidt commented that he could see a future that included free cell phones provided to users who accept watching targeted advertising.

His observation was that mobile phones are adopting more and more characteristics that bring them closer to handheld computer status. Their functionality has expanded to text messaging, email and web access. Schmidt referenced research that predicted a rise in cell phone use to as much as eight to 10 hours a day for purposes of talking, texting and using the Web. With a device so thoroughly integrated into personal daily life, advertising becomes a viable form of revenue – and hence, a source of subsidy for free phone distribution.

With a nod to reality, Schmidt observed that mobile phones may never be completely free. He noted that newspapers have had a financial model based on advertising for a century, but have never been free – although they are certainly inexpensive. Actually, some of the more successful newspaper ventures remaining are the free neighborhood weeklies that land on your doorstep. On the other hand, television empires were built on advertising and the networks have never been known to subsidize TV distribution.

Google has been experimenting with providing text and video ads to cell phones with LCD screens. They have developed alliances with some of Japan’s telephone networks, where shopping via the cell phone screen has become a reality. According to Schmidt, however, Google has no current plans to give away phones and he is unaware of any effort by phone manufacturers, cell phone service providers or Internet phone services to do so.

However it is a mistake to ever take offhand remarks from Google executives lightly. While the question of phone availability either at low cost or cost free remains an open one, the specter of advertising on cell phones is no longer a question at all. Cell phones will soon be able to provide the targeting data for advertising that computer clicks provide now. When advertisers are able to harness that data, the cell phone advertising market is going to become increasingly enticing.

An analysis of Google’s acquisition of YouTube included the observation that with the fragmenting of broadcast television, there were billion in annual advertising dollars out there in the hands of people who are uncertain where to place them. This particular analysis speculated on the possibility of Google’s ability to guide some of those dollars to YouTube.

Google’s notion of utilizing the cell phone as an advertising vehicle should be considered in the same vein. It may not be on the radar screen currently, but that doesn’t mean that a company with the money, the power and the talent of a Google can’t put a major blip on that screen in short order.

From Schmidt’s perspective, the market is going to be there. Google’s .3 billion in 2005 revenue was derived from the sale of advertising and positioning on its search service. They understand the new advertising platforms better than any other corporate entity in the business. Google has said that one day, mobile phone ad revenue will match computer based ad revenue.
